Harold's occupation was Drill Machinist when he enlisted in December 1917 at Granville and served in the 4th Battalion A.I.F. At the time of enlistment he was serving in the Citizen Military Forces. The family lived at "Belmont" Cumberland Road, Auburn.

He departed Melbourne on the 'Nestor' 28 February 1918 and arrived in France via England July 1918.

He spent from 13 May 1918 until 5 June 1918 in Sutton Veny Military Hospital in England with the Measles.

Private Harold Lancelot STEVENS was killed in action at Proyart France on 23 Aug 1918 age 21.
